How to get to Mancos, Peru
Mancos is in the Callejón de Huaylas, between Huaraz and Yungay, in the Áncash region. Here’s how to get here from Lima and Huaraz.

Choose how to come
From Lima by bus
Several bus companies run the Lima–Huaraz route, by day and overnight. The trip takes around 8 hours. Some routes continue to Yungay and Caraz; otherwise, change buses in Huaraz.
From Lima by car
Take the Pan-American Highway north to Pativilca, then climb the road towards Conococha and Huaraz. From Huaraz, continue north through the Callejón de Huaylas to Mancos.
From Huaraz
Take a colectivo (shared minivan) heading to Yungay or Caraz and ask to get off in Mancos. The ride takes about an hour. Taxis are also available.

Location
Right on the valley highway
The house is in Mancos, on the highway that links Huaraz with Yungay. Tours from Huaraz to the Llanganuco Lakes and Laguna 69 drive past, so you save a good part of the journey.
Tip: Mancos sits at around 2,500 m (8,200 ft). If you’re coming from the coast, take your first day easy.
